With the first season of live shows at Broadway Theatre heading towards the final act, it’s time to start looking ahead to some of the fantastic acts coming to Broadway Theatre over the summer. Our Creative Programmer, Sue Scott Davison tells us more about what’s coming up…
Hi friends and theatre goers,
Well, I can’t believe we’re on the final leg of Season 1 at Broadway Theatre, and what an exciting time it’s been. We’ve had such a variety of live performance to compliment the already fantastic cinema offer here at Broadway, and your ongoing support and feedback have been much appreciated. Seeing familiar faces is all part of our growing together and making this lovely theatre a success.
Our summer season is just around the corner, and we’ve made sure there’s something for everyone, with gorgeous family shows, from The Tap Dancing Mermaid, CBeebies’ Sarah & Duck, to the dangerous and delightful, Dinosaur World. This interactive, ginormous show will thrill all ages…we even have danger seats for the bold at heart! Comedy audiences are well served this season with the brand new, All Star Comedy Stand Up starring Justin Moorhouse, Stewart Francis, Jarred Christmas and Mike Gunn, and from a sell-out tour of Australia, the very naughty and hilarious spoof, Graeme of Thrones. Music lovers have several treats in store as we open our doors to the extraordinary, Laurence Olivier Award winning, Showstoppers! This talented troupe of seasoned West End performers and musicians will blow you away with a brand new musical, improvised at your suggestion, literally in the moment.
You can see the full summer programme here.
Fresh from a sell-out tour with Mel C, and with his new single, Make Believe just out, we’re thrilled to be hosting our very own local lad, Alex Francis at Broadway Theatre…and to complete our season we have the extraordinary story of Nina Simone, in Black Is The Color Of My Voice, beautifully sung and portrayed by the captivating Apphia Campbell.
We look forward to seeing you all at Broadway 1 over the summer!
