Rush

The Broadway Gallery is proud to present Rush, the debut collection by Letchworth artist Nick Purser. This special one-week exhibition runs from 21st to 24th May 2025.

Join Nick for a special preview evening on Saturday 17th May, from 7pm to 10pm.

Visitors will have the rare opportunity to meet the artist in person, explore over 200 original works, and purchase select pieces directly from the collection Nick Purser is a lifelong resident of Letchworth with deep roots and affection for the town. A student of St Chris, he went on to study Graphic Design at University. After learning photographic printing in his first job, he went on to make a reputation for himself within the dance music industry as a record sleeve designer. He has produced iconic record sleeves for multiple record labels but is best known for his work for LTJ Bukems seminal drum and bass label Good Looking Records. Whilst running a design department at an agency in London’s Clerkenwell, he joined the Scrawl Collective - a group of cutting edge artists based in Shoreditch. After selling out multiple series of limited edition screen prints sold in boutique stores and Liberty's of London he exhibited his first small collection with P.I.M.P - Partners in Media Publishing.

After having ran his own graphic design business for 20 years the desire to produce art led to a 3 year experimental period which has resulted in ‘Rush’ - his first major collection which will open at the Broadway Gallery on 17th May 2025. It consists of over 200 original paintings which are all connected by themes including music, futurism, geometry and space. The paintings explore the area between abstraction and realism. There are landscapes, views of earth, tiny particles and vast distances. They are powerful, highly decorative canvases using acrylics and spray paint with a colour palette involving pinks, turquoises, deep blues and flecked through with metallics of silver and gold.
